The Paarl Media Academy of Print has now acquired City & Guilds of London Institute accreditation for the apprenticeship programmes in the following designated trades: Bookbinding Mechanised/Cutting, Gravure Machine Minding, Lithography (Paper Section), Roll Label Machine Minding, Rotary Offset Machine Minding and Photo-Gravure Cylinder Processing.
“The Academy, as a training entity, received accreditation from the City & Guilds on its launch in 2010”, explains Nico Grobbelaar, HR Director of Paarl Media. “However, the further accreditation of our individual trade apprenticeship programmes, which were developed in house by our Academy team, is a true acknowledgement that the training we are developing and delivering is of a top standard, and can be compared to the best offered internationally.”
“Our first group of apprentices on this new programme have already successfully completed their first six months theoretical modules and are now currently busy with their experiential training within our plants across the country,” Grobbelaar added. “The recruitment for the new 2012 intake has already begun, and we will continue to develop additional curricula in Estimating, Production Planning and other print related fields.”
The Paarl Media Academy of Print is an Institute of Sectoral and Occupational Excellence and is an accredited training provider with FP&M SETA.
