As a leader in the print and manufacturing sector, Novus Holdings continuously invests in world-class technology, the latest being that of the Kodak Prosper Technology press installation at the Group’s new entity, Novus Print Solutions. The installation is Kodak’s largest to date in the Southern Hemisphere.
In May 2016, Novus Holdings successfully concluded the merger of its Paarl Media Paarl facility and Digital Print Solutions, the digital-print business which the Group acquired in 2015, to form a consolidated digital and sheetfed operation, entitled Novus Print Solutions.
The bespoke production facility offers an extensive range of solutions to publishers along with a wide spectrum of short-to-medium run books, magazines, commercial advertising brochures, pamphlets and variable data solutions to clients across the African content and abroad.
“We have a long-standing relationship with Kodak and were excited to partner with them to ensure that we have the most advanced and reliable equipment in place at our new operation. By using overlapping technologies, we are able to cater to the expanding needs of our clients in relation to print runs, speed and quality,” says David Clayton, General Manager at Novus Print Solutions.
The installation includes a Kodak Prosper 6000C press with ManRoland web systems FoldLine. Seven Kodak Prosper S20 S-Series Imprinting Systems for its litho devices, has been installed at the Group’s other printing facilities across South Africa.
Supporting the installation at Novus Print Solutions is the new Kolbus KM200 Digital book binder.
Over the past two years, the Group has engaged extensively with local and international publishers, as well as clients to better understand the changing needs of the market.
“There is a stronger focus on shorter runs, personalised content and quicker turnarounds. We are constantly reviewing the latest technologies and equipment available to further enhance our production processes and efficiencies. We believe that Novus Print Solutions brings a unique offering that is at the forefront of print,” concludes Clayton.
Novus Print Solutions has already signed exclusive deals with major international and local publishers with production scheduled to start immediately.
