Novus Academy, the training division of Novus Holdings, understands the challenges of employment and how difficult it is today to be ready and to enter meaningful jobs. To support transformation and play its part in alleviating unemployment amongst the youth of South Africa, the Novus Academy has since 2014 invested in the delivery of the Print and Packaging Bridging Programme. This programme was specifically designed in conjunction with Printing SA and the Fibre Processing & Manufacturing Sector Education and Training Authority (FP&M SETA) for learners who do not have a Grade 12 qualification, thereby enabling them to further their education. The aim of this programme is to provide opportunities for candidates that previously did not qualify to apply for apprenticeship programmes or any other learnerships. This year has seen the third intake of learners into this programme and on Friday 21 July 2017, the Novus Academy celebrated the successful completion with the class of 2017.
“Resulting from their excellent marks, many of the learners will go onto completing a six-month practical learning contract. We are very proud of the 2017 graduates and wish them all the best in their future careers,” says Nico Grobbelaar, group executive of human resources at Novus Holdings.
Established in 2011 by leading printing and manufacturing operation Novus Holdings, the Novus Academy offers a comprehensive range of training opportunities and apprenticeships in 12 specialised areas.
