16 September marked National Recycling Day SA, which aims to increase awareness by educating the community about the social, environmental and economic benefits of recycling. Novus Holdings, the commercial printing, and manufacturing company with head offices in Cape Town identified the Oasis Association as a sustainable and aligned beneficiary to show their support of National Recycling Day SA.
As a market leader in the local print industry, Novus Holdings recognises the impact of its production processes on the country’s natural resources. It therefore strives to minimise any negative environmental effects in its operations, wherever possible, by investing in practices that reduce, re-use and recycle.
Novus Holdings donated R15 000 to the Oasis Association, in recognition of its successful initiatives and organisations. The Oasis Association’s projects align with Novus Holdings’ corporate social investment initiative, Future Foundations, which empowers lives and transforms communities. Novus Holdings is proud to be associated with the Oasis Association and the positive impact that they are making through recycling.
About Oasis
For more than two decades now, the Oasis Association has created sustainable employment for men and women with intellectual challenges, via its professional recycling solution for Cape Metro businesses and its bustling domestic recycling centre in Claremont. These environmentally sustainable initiatives and others of a similar nature can be found on the Cape Town Green Map. Other than Oasis Recycling, the Association runs a Bakery and two Books and Bric-A-Brac shops, which in turn support a range of Workshops, Day/Adult Centres and Group Homes for the intellectually challenged. To drop off your recycling, or donate your second-hand resalable items visit the Oasis website.
