Paarl Coldset Johannesburg, which forms part of the print division of Novus Holdings, South Africa’s leading printing and manufacturing group, is the proud printing partner for the print edition of Independent Media’s African multimedia publication, African Independent. The new weekly publication was launched on Friday, 28 August 2015.

“We’ve been working on the project for the past six months and the launch was an outstanding success. We are really excited to be part of this new publication,” says Neel Naicker, Managing Director at Paarl Coldset Johannesburg.

Paarl Coldset Johannesburg celebrated the publication’s first print with the team from Independent Media, including Howard Plaatjes, Group Executive of Special Operations and Trading Performance at Independent Media.

The 48-page tabloid, with a print run of 60 000 copies, is headed up by founding editor Jovial Rantao, who is also the president of The Africa Editors’ Forum and chairman of the Southern African Editors’ Forum. Issued every Friday, the newspaper will provide a deeper analysis of topics delivered first on the African Independent online platform.

Receiving the brand new title’s first print off the press, Plaatjes and Rantao commended the team at Paarl Coldset Johannesburg on their great work and perfect quality delivery of the publication.

“It has been a great pleasure to see this print publication come together. We wish the African Independent every success on its new journey and we are honoured to be its printing partner,” concludes Naicker.

With plants in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and Pietermaritzburg, Paarl Coldset produces a wide spectrum of daily, Sunday and weekly newspapers.
