Corporate Social Investment

Building strong foundations for future growth.

At Novus Holdings, we are committed to making a sustainable difference in the communities in which we operate.

In 2014 we decided to focus our CSI efforts on education. As a result, the Future Foundations Initiative was born in 2015 as our primary CSI program with the aim to support the improvement of education across the country.

Our Future Foundations Initiative aims to build strong foundations for future growth by focusing on education, skills development and community engagement.

The principle behind the Future Foundations Initiative is an approach of giving ‘a hand up, not a hand-out’. We believe that by providing the right type of support, we can help a beneficiary from becoming forever reliant on donors, and rather empower them to grow independently.

Group CSI Projects.

We encourage each of our entities across South Africa to take ownership of driving social investment activities in their surrounding communities. All projects are governed by central guidelines and primarily focused on education.

Rooted in the belief that education is a mechanism for upliftment and that the private sector has the responsibility to assist in developing future leaders, the Paarl Media Bursary Fund Trust annually supports promising school-leavers who require financial assistance to study in the field of their choice.

Novus Holdings has joined forces with the Department of Basic Education in an effort to support government initiatives. The campaign has identified 94 schools that are in dire need of assistance and the heritage school, Clarkebury Senior Secondary, in the Eastern Cape was selected as one of the schools to support.

Our passion for the print industry and having noted the shortage of specialised skills in the marketplace prompted us to establish the Novus Academy in 2011. We seek to unlock the potential of industry professionals from across the globe, by offering world class print training programmes accredited by SETA and the City & Guilds of London Institute.

Emagqabini, based in Khayelitsha (Site B) in the Western Cape, is an education academy formed to assist learners to improve their school grades and steer them towards excellence.  Launched in 2014, Emagqabini assists learners in Grade 8 – 10 with all subjects. Novus Holdings has assisted the Academy with its basic start-up needs by providing stationery and equipment, as well as support with NGO registrations and other business requirements.
